Do I need to lose weight before starting a pole dancing class?

The answer to this very common question, is certainly not. There is something for everyone! Yes it could be true, if you shift some weight, then technically you have less to lift up the pole, but I have had some tiny woman, walk into my class, and struggle for months to do anything which requires them to hold their body weight at all.

Emma Haslam has released her video this week, ready for a competition that she will soon be entering. She has so much flare, beautiful lines and a glowing confidence. Her moves are strong and polished, and to top it all off, she is not the usual skinny pole girl. She proves that you don’t have to be a size 8 to pole dance.

Personally I think that as long as you are healthy, then I don’t see weight as an issue. Do take a look at her video here, and also a brilliant write up by the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

Good luck Emma! 🙂
