This was my not so Christmasy routine at the Purity Studio Andover Christmas Pole Club!
My weekend was packed full of pole events, first of all on Saturday we had the belated Christmas Pole jam for Students at the Purity Studio. This was cancelled before Christmas due to the snow. There were 3 of the Purity teachers there, myself, Beth and Suze, we all gave out tuition which meant most students got a lot out of the jam.
Suze set herself a challenge to try and do as many moves as she could in 90 seconds without touching the floor. but she wasn’t allowed to do the same move twice! (Well apart from climbing and Inverting) I’m sure she will upload her video to her new blog once it is up and running.
I did a trial run of my performance ready for Sunday, here is the video:
On Sunday Jason and I ventured to Bristol ready for the Spin City Spring Showcase event which was being held at the Panache night club. They had hired out the venue and placed 2 Xpoles on the brightly lit dance floor (one 50mm on Static and one 45mm on Spin mode). Kate Johnstone opened the show with a wicked trick infused routine, my god that girl is strong! After that one by one other performers both amateur and professional came on and did their performance. There was a mixture of Pole Dance and Burlesque. Emma Mitchell did her hilarious old lady burlesque/pole act, I definitely think this was the most memorable performance from the night.
I was the last pole act to go on, I used both Spinny and Static pole and danced to Hysteria by Muse. I felt confident with the routine especially having practiced it at the Jam the day before. There will be some photos to follow from the night as Jason was there as the official photographer, for now you can see my video:
On Sunday 7th December we had the Purity Christmas Party, many students past and present also came to perform their Christmas routine for the show. The studio had under gone a transformation into ‘Santas Pole Grotto’.
Jason Parlour took a wonderful selection of images, a few of them are shown below.
We had 8 performers in total and they all bought their support with them to cheer them on. For some people (Suze, Fiona and Leanne) it was their first time doing a pole show so hats off to them!!
Lindsey and Claire have been pole dancing for about 3 years now and have done a few shows already. Each have their own unique styles which they bought to the night.
Genevieve came all the way down from Strictly Pole Dancing and the Flying Studio in Leicester and done 2 amazing performances, she is so graceful and I think we all got lost in her performance as it was so mesmerizing.
Lisa put on a cheeky Christmas routine to ‘All I Want for Christmas’, she was in true Christmas spirit dancing round dressed as an elf, and wow-ing us with her flexible moves.
I then put on my little Santa outfit and did my routine, which got off to a slow start due to some technical difficulties!
After all the performances were done then we had a pole jam for those who still had energy.
