Changes to Purity

This week has been home to some of the most significant changes to Purity Pole Dancing, Purity will be saying goodbye to Emma and Suze.

Both have been fantastic teachers for Purity for nearly 3 years, but during that time my beloved Pole Dance Teacher job, has become more like an admin position. Leaving me less and less time for what I enjoy the most… POLE! I did office work for 5 years before starting Purity, and some how I have managed to get back there again.

From June, I shall be going back to my original way of running Purity, with just myself teaching. It has been fabulous having the wonderful teachers over the years, Suze, Emma, Lisa, Leanne, Mel and Beth, but I feel it is time to focus more on pole.

The students most affected of these changes were told in class this week. From June Purity will no longer be running classes at Wraysbury, and the classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at West Byfleet will now be with me on Tuesdays from 12th June. If you are able to make Tuesdays, then please get in touch ASAP.

I am deeply sorry for those who are now without a Purity class, and not able to make a new day or location, but I thank you for your support in this, as it has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever made.

This is the new Purity time table with me:
Mondays – Camberley
Tuesdays – West Byfleet
Wednesdays – Purity Studio, Reading
Thursdays – Purity Studio, Reading

Hello Pole Dancers

Happy New Year to you all! I have quite a few things for Purity including, Grading Scheme, Spinny pole Workshop and Performance Workshop.

On a slightly sad note we will be stopping the classes at Godalming, Beth has now got a new job which means she will no longer be working in Godalming but she will still be teaching in Camberley. Thank you to all the students who took classes there and big thanks to Beth for hosting them.

You will now be able to grading’s with Purity. This option is available to all students, the grading’s will only be held in Reading, but you can work towards them in class. To be a part of the Advancement Accreditation Program you need to become a member of Pole Dance Community, this costs £30 and can be brought through Purity, details can be found here –

UK Amateur Pole Performer (UKAPP) are now taking entries for 2011. The heats are located around the UK, don’t be afraid to enter, there are many categories from beginner level to the more advance, all they ask is that you are not already a paid pole dance performer (and they do check!). Their website is

Please note that with all Purity classes they are lessons rather than pole jams, which means you must follow the teachers instruction rather than swapping moves with each other. We believe this is the safest way to run classes, especially as all the teachers have been trained on how to teach moves safely and can work out if you are ready for certain moves. If you see someone doing a new move and would like to give it a go then by all means ask your teacher, I’m sure they will be happy to teach it to you, or give you advice on what moves will get you ready for it.

New Venue New Teachers!

Purity will now be coming to Datchet!!
Our lovely new venue is Datchet Health Club which is part of Churchmead School. There is a fantastic studio, with lots of mirrors. Tasters will be running on 1st August 2009, and weekday courses starting in September 2009.

3 new teachers have joined Purity and will be training this summer in teaching pole and Exercise to Music. Once their training is complete they will be teaching pole in West Byfleet, Datchet and soon to be Godalming.

I am very excited about how well Purity has grown over the past year. New teachers are head hunted rather than from random recruitment selections. All the teachers must do Exercise to Music and the Purity Pole Teaching training. Purity always run training days throughout the year as we feel that CPD in pole is very important, and often over looked.
